Description
This certificate introduces learners to Behavioral Insights (BI) and the BI Toolkit, which was created by NASWA as a practical resource for use by UI staff seeking to incorporate behavioral insights into their UI integrity work. BI uses a human-centered approach to exploring people’s needs, understanding their experiences, and intervening to “nudge” their behavior or encourage them to take a desired action. Applying behavioral insights can help your agency address integrity-related UI challenges.
Audience: This certificate is for UI staff members who want to learn more about BI and/or are interested in learning how to design and use behavioral interventions to increase adherence to UI program rules, policies, laws, and guidelines.
Learning Objectives: This training helps learners:
- Understand BI and why it is relevant and valuable to UI.
- Use the BI Toolkit to access resources that will help UI agencies apply the learnings and methods of BI to address program compliance challenges and improve UI integrity.
- Define the BI principles that can help to explain the behavior of people interacting with the UI system and can be used as tools to encourage compliant behavior.
- Describe how behavioral strategies have been used in UI programs to develop solutions that address improper payments.
- Describe the process to design a BI intervention to address an integrity-related UI challenge.
- Explain the importance of evaluating BI interventions and identify the most common methods used to evaluate interventions
This certificate includes multiple lessons organized into modules that can be taken individually or as a whole program of study. Learners can earn a certificate by completing all lessons, modules, and exams in the program of study. Lessons will be added on a rolling basis as they become available.
